As we close the door on the turbulent, challenging, and inspiring year of 2008 and embark upon an uncertain journey into 2009, Natural Light Network would like to take this opportunity to thank our subscribers, contributors, family, and friends for supporting our efforts to establish an important outpost in the ever expanding frontier of webland.
And our prayer for each and every one of you is that God will continue to bless you and guide you through the difficult times ahead.
This month, as many of you are aware, marks the first anniversary of Natural Light Network (formerly Natural Light Information Service)! On January 30, 2008 we published our premier presentation, “The Preacher and the Thief,” a fictional analysis of the relationship between good and evil.
Since then Natural Light Network has continued it’s quest to shed new light on such complex issues as the plight of black people in America, the confusing environment our culture creates for growing children, and the truth about “Good Friday.” (SEE Archives)
Our goal for 2009 is to become an even better source of information and inspiration for our visitors. Included in NLN’s plans for expansion are profiles of exceptional people, health tips, recipes for affordable delicacies, recognition of successful entrepreneurs, and the works of featured poets, authors, composers, and journalists.
As always, your input is anticipated and will be greatly appreciated. Correspondence regarding submissions and suggestions should be emailed to pnsuitec@aol.com.
Our featured poem this week is dedicated to our brothers and sisters that have been ensnared by the traps set by the economic masters of our Earthly plantation.
Runaway Slaves
I see your dreams reflected in my own
whenever sunlight parts the clouds,
still strong, undaunted by our struggle
to love and live as we should.
And in darkness I hear you walking
beside me, resisting the winds
that would scatter our hopes,
unafraid of the journey
that must one day set us free.
From “Diary of a Drifter” ã 1986 Paul Howard Nicholas
Wishing you all Peace, Love, Health, and Prosperity!
